The Falls

The Niagara Falls
It was lovely to get outside and go for a stroll along the Niagara Falls. We thought at first we would just take a peak on the Canadian side and then spend the majority of our time on the American side. But due to my starving stomach and a much needed car break we spent all of our time in Canada. It really had the best view of the falls and most of the attraction, plus we got to be in another country.

It was interesting to learn a little bit about the falls, stand in her mist, enjoy the view, and of course to get in some prime people watching. What else can I say about the fall? It is large, grand, and hard to process the amount of water going over. Dave and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and are glad to have gone.

Road Trip to MA

Hello!
Where do I begin? Dave and I were so busy preparing for this move across the country, graduation, tying up loose ends at jobs, and saying goodbye to St. George all the wonderful people there. Whew! But I am determined to become a better blogger and to share a bit of our lives.

Across the country road trip..... I was really hesitant to drive across the USA. I have previsouly went on this adventure three times. Being with Dave made it so, so, so  much better! Just wanted to share our drive in a nut shell with a few highlights.

Day 1 - We drove through Wyoming and made it just into Nebraska. It was a rainy day. We stopped in Cheyenne to eat and poor Dave got food poisoning that night. Watch out for Village Inn ( I know that is what everyone is wondering.) :(

Day 2 - Made it through Nebraska and stopped in Iowa for the night. We started listening to the 2nd Maze Runner book on CD. This provided really fun conversation and some entertainment to break up all the driving. We also ate at Panera, which was just as good as I remember it being. I love this place. Also the picture of Dave is at a really old gas station, that was kind of comical to figure out how to use.

Day 3 - On the road again, drove through Iowa, Illinois, and on to Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was really great to stop for a bit and see my friend and her cute family. First timer to Michigan and it was interesting to see a little bit of this state. We also really noticed the different kinds of road kill here. (Ask Dave about his song he made up) And it was great to hear about things from a local and get shown downtown and the college campus. Loved this stop.

Day 4- After a chatty and restful break, we got back on the road. We went over a bridge and drove into Canada. Thankfully we had no problems crossing the border. It took about 3 1/2 hours to drive to Niagara Falls (separate post to follow later). The speed limit was a lot slower than in the west. There are also these lovely rest stops along the highway with yummy food options, like Tim Horton's. Dave recommends the apple fritter. After viewing the falls, getting some grub, and time away from the car. We drove a little bit more and stopped in New York, right outside of Palmyra.  We stayed at a Best Western. I thought this was the best hotel of the trip. We decided to splurge and it ended up being the cheapest. Moral of the story stop at a later time, when you on the road to get the nicer hotel at a better price.

Day 5 - We spent the morning walking around Palmyra and visiting LDS historical sites. I had previously been here with my parents, but this was Dave's first time. It was really interesting and beautiful to learn more about our church's history and to be there.

And then finally we made it to Bridgewater, MA. Yay!
